Globally renowned K-pop group BTS is on the brink of a historic reunion, with all seven members set to wrap up their mandatory military service within the first half of 2025.
This marks the group’s full return to the spotlight for the first time since 2022.
According to official reports, BTS members RM and V will be discharged on June 10, followed closely by Jimin and Jungkook on June 11. Suga, the last to complete his service, will be discharged on June 21.
With these dates in place, BTS will officially close the chapter on military enlistment by late June 2025, laying the groundwork for one of the most anticipated comebacks in K-pop history.
Jin, the group’s eldest, completed his service back in June 2023, while J-Hope followed suit in October 2024. Their early discharges have allowed them to gradually resume public appearances, heightening excitement among fans for the group’s eventual full regrouping.
Behind the scenes, preparations are already underway. HYBE, the entertainment powerhouse behind BTS, has started laying the foundation for their comeback.
“The members of BTS are going to finish their military duties within the first half of this year and return to their activities,” HYBE CEO Lee Jae-sang shared in an interview with Korea JoongAng Daily. He noted that the company is already in talks with prominent songwriters, signaling that creative momentum is building.
However, Jae-sang emphasized that the members will need time to reflect and prepare.
“We are in talks with top-tier songwriters but the artists also need time to think and prepare themselves,” he stated.
As for a tour? Fans may have to wait a bit longer. “A tour date is usually set after [an artist] finishes their music,” Jae-sang added.
